In 1980, John Andrusko (retired 2021), founded Professional Export Services (PES). John had identified a niche market that was under-serviced by the conventional forwarding community: shippers of agricultural commodities.
Since its inception, PES has been recognized as the first niche forwarder helping North American agricultural producers get their goods to market in containerized quantities. PES’ business and clientele has continued to grow over the past thirty years. As the demand for more personalized service has been placed on forwarders, due to carrier consolidation and market forces, PES has continued to offer its clients personalized, hands-on customer service. PES’ main markets continue to be Asia/ SE Asia, and since 2010, Europe and South American markets have seen year yearly increases in sales of +10%. PES has helped hundreds of shippers of agricultural commodities compete against the larger multi-national agricultural producers, by being able to move their goods via containers.
Rooted in the shipping of agricultural commodities, PES has been able to leverage its volume to also handle shippers of agricultural machinery (containerized and RO-RO), leisure boats, automobiles and the dairy industry. The dairy industry and shipments of dairy powders now represents the largest customer base of PES.
PES’ dedicated team are very excited about the future and being of continued service to the international shipping community.
